On Remembrance Sunday there will be special commemorations across our diocese.We pray for reconciliation between nations, that all people may live in freedom, justice and peace.We pray for all who suffer the consequences of fighting and terror.We remember with thanksgiving and sorrow those whose lives have been given and taken away.We pray for peace-makers and peace-keepers, who seek to keep this world secure and free.“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last he will stand upon the earth.” (Job 19. 25)This memorial on Perth’s North Inch was unveiled in 1995 to pay tribute to all who served in the 51st Highland Division in the two World Wars. It symbolizes the liberation of our European Allies from occupation and repression in 1945 and commemorates the 50 years of peace that have followed.
