On Friday 23rd April the Rt Rev Dr Martin Fair, current Moderator to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, will be hosting a lunchtime webinar on pilgrimage in Scotland, between 12.30 and 1.30 pm. He is a lifelong walker and outdoor enthusiast and has decided to mark his year of office by using this medium to promote the significance of active pilgrimage travel and its relevance to Christian faith in Scotland today.
As his personal contribution during the period of Covid lockdown, Martin has recently taken time out to explore a potential new pilgrimage walking route linking Arbroath, where he is Minister of the Parish Church, with Dunkeld and Killin – a project which has strong support from SPRF. He and I have discussed this in recent weeks with members of an embryonic Steering Group.
Martin Fair will be hosting this webinar online and has kindly invited me to take part on the panel together with Wendy Lloyd, of Christian Aid’s Guild of Health and Paul Rose of Mountain Pilgrims. It promises to be an interesting discussion.
Further details can be found on the Eventbrite page. Registration is now live, so if you are interested in following the webinar please sign up using this link: https://stepping-out-pilgrimage.eventbrite.co.uk
