Concert – St Mary’s Aberfoyle

July 17, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

On 17th July we shall resume our anual visit by the young ceilidh band Feis Fhiort. They are always good fun so please come and support these youngsters as they set out on their careers in traditional Scottish music.

As always, the concerts all start at 3 o’clock in St. Mary’s Church, Aberfoyle, and last an hour, followed by tea. Entrance is by voluntary donation but places may be booked in advance by emailing emailing St Mary’s Aberfoyle aberfoyleconcerts@gmail.com

    On the feast day of St Margaret of Scotland we pray especially for the congregations of St Margaret of Scotland, Leven; St Margaret of Scotland, Tayport; and St Margaret, Rosyth. May we all follow St Margaret's example of charity towards all God’s people.This panel, with its painting of a holy person calling us to be holy, is part of the 1600s painted ceiling in St Mary’s Chapel, Grandtully, which is in the care of Historic Scotland.Almighty God,who called your servant Margaret to an earthly thronethat she might advance your heavenly kingdom,and endued her with zeal for your Churchand charity towards your people:mercifully grant that we,who commemorate her example,may be fruitful in good worksand attain to the glorious company of your saints;through Jesus Christ, our Lord,who lives and reigns with youin the unity of the Holy Spirit,one God, world without end.Amen. ...     On the 26th Sunday after Pentecost we read and reflect on Jesus’ warnings of the difficult times ahead for his followers in Jerusalem.
