Concert – St Mary’s, Aberfoyle

We welcome the All Sorts Ladies a Cappella Quartet, freelance opera singers Sarah Power, Grace Wain, Sarah Shorter, and Jane Monari, who will be singing a wide selection of songs from musicals, film, and Broadway, all with their own special twist. This will be a wonderful light-hearted end to our autumn series, and I hope to see as many of you as possible.

As always, the concert will start at 3 o’clock on Sunday 19th November in St. Mary’s Church, Aberfoyle, and will be followed by tea, when you will have a chance to chat to the ladies themselves. Entrance is by voluntary donation.

    On the feast day of St Margaret of Scotland we pray especially for the congregations of St Margaret of Scotland, Leven; St Margaret of Scotland, Tayport; and St Margaret, Rosyth. May we all follow St Margaret's example of charity towards all God’s people.This panel, with its painting of a holy person calling us to be holy, is part of the 1600s painted ceiling in St Mary’s Chapel, Grandtully, which is in the care of Historic Scotland.Almighty God,who called your servant Margaret to an earthly thronethat she might advance your heavenly kingdom,and endued her with zeal for your Churchand charity towards your people:mercifully grant that we,who commemorate her example,may be fruitful in good worksand attain to the glorious company of your saints;through Jesus Christ, our Lord,who lives and reigns with youin the unity of the Holy Spirit,one God, world without end.Amen. ...     On the 26th Sunday after Pentecost we read and reflect on Jesus’ warnings of the difficult times ahead for his followers in Jerusalem.
