Bach’s St John Passion

April 10, 2022 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Bach’s St John Passion will be sung in the cathedral at 3.30pm on Palm Sunday (10th April) by the cathedral choir and invited soloists, directed by Geoff Bolton.

All are welcome to join us in the cathedral for an hour of readings and reflective music as we move into Holy Week.

    On the feast day of the Epiphany, we give thanks that Christ's divine nature was revealed to people of all nations. This crib scene set up in the centre of Perth includes the "three kings", the wise men who travelled from the East to find the new King..In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage."When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage.
