End of Warm Welcome initiative at St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth

The 25th march 2024 marked the end of the Warm Welcome initiative for this winter season.
A celebration lunch was on for offer today and all our volunteers who have welcomed people, made lunches and refreshments were recognised for all their efforts over the last 5 months.
Each volunteer present was presented with a certificate by the Community Learning and Development Worker for Perth City, Sue Holland-Smith, from the Community Learning & Development Team from Perth and Kinross Council who funded our warm welcome initiative.

    On the feast day of St Margaret of Scotland we pray especially for the congregations of St Margaret of Scotland, Leven; St Margaret of Scotland, Tayport; and St Margaret, Rosyth. May we all follow St Margaret's example of charity towards all God’s people.This panel, with its painting of a holy person calling us to be holy, is part of the 1600s painted ceiling in St Mary’s Chapel, Grandtully, which is in the care of Historic Scotland.Almighty God,who called your servant Margaret to an earthly thronethat she might advance your heavenly kingdom,and endued her with zeal for your Churchand charity towards your people:mercifully grant that we,who commemorate her example,may be fruitful in good worksand attain to the glorious company of your saints;through Jesus Christ, our Lord,who lives and reigns with youin the unity of the Holy Spirit,one God, world without end.Amen. ...     On the 26th Sunday after Pentecost we read and reflect on Jesus’ warnings of the difficult times ahead for his followers in Jerusalem.
