Our 19th February concert will be an organ recital, details to follow, and then on 19th March we have been awarded a concert by the Tunnell Trust winners, Apollo’s Cabernet, another baroque ensemble of five players (and their harpsichord). To quote from their publicity material:
“Our focus is to create storyline based programmes, interweaving multiple art forms to rethink historical performance practice in a way fit for a modern audience. Our strengths lie in immersive programming with a strong focus on storytelling and the connection with the audience on multiple levels. Or, to quote the Bognor Regis Observer: “Apollo’s Cabinet are adding storylines and scenarios to illuminate already dramatic music, while erasing the interactive gap between stage and audience”. So, there you are!
As always, the concerts all start at 3 o’clock in St. Mary’s Church, Aberfoyle, and last an hour, followed by tea. Entrance is by voluntary donation but places may be booked in advance by emailing St Mary’s Aberfoyle aberfoyleconcerts@gmail.com
