    On the last Sunday after Pentecost we celebrate the reign of Christ the King and reflect on the nature of Christ’s kingdom. This view from Kinnoull Hill near Perth shows the rocky cliffs near the summit, and the outskirts of Perth on the plain below.Jesus said, "My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom belonged to this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews.     On the feast day of St Margaret of Scotland we pray especially for the congregations of St Margaret of Scotland, Leven; St Margaret of Scotland, Tayport; and St Margaret, Rosyth. May we all follow St Margaret's example of charity towards all God’s people.This panel, with its painting of a holy person calling us to be holy, is part of the 1600s painted ceiling in St Mary’s Chapel, Grandtully, which is in the care of Historic Scotland.Almighty God,who called your servant Margaret to an earthly thronethat she might advance your heavenly kingdom,and endued her with zeal for your Churchand charity towards your people:mercifully grant that we,who commemorate her example,may be fruitful in good worksand attain to the glorious company of your saints;through Jesus Christ, our Lord,who lives and reigns with youin the unity of the Holy Spirit,one God, world without end.Amen. ...
