That is a question that I get asked often and one that you may be thinking, so let me try and explain what the appointment is all about.
People throughout the United Kingdom and beyond are rediscovering the joy and benefit of going on a Pilgrimage, whether short walks or longer distances covered over a period of several days or weeks. The Fife Pilgrim Way provides an option for either. Established in 2019, it reintroduces the old pilgrim route that many travelled in medieval times across Fife to St Andrews Cathedral.
As the Pilgrim Pastor for the Fife Pilgrim Way, I will seek to help people get the most out of their walks/pilgrimages in all aspects, this will involve:
- Producing useful resources for pilgrims to aid them on their journeys.
- Helping churches along the way discover how they might help the pilgrimage experience.
- Helping individuals and groups plan, prepare, and reflect on their pilgrimages.
- Organise and lead pilgrimages along the Fife Pilgrim way.
This year I will be inviting people to join me to “walk the Fife Pilgrim Way in a year,” walking various stages each month. Dates and further details will be coming shortly, so maybe think about challenging yourself physically and spiritually this year and come along.
In the meantime, if you would like to contact me you can on pilgrimpastorfife@gmail.com

Remarks by Revd Duncan Weaver, the new Pilgrim Pastor, begin here.
God of pilgrims,
be for us our companion on the walk,
our guide at the crossroads,
our breath in weariness,
our protection in danger,
our shelter on the way,
our light in darkness,
our consolation in discouragement,
and our strength day by day.
~ Bishop Ian
