Our next concert is something completely different, a recital by the wonderful young harpist Sophie Rocks. Entitled “From Bach to Bowie” there is nether Bach nor Bowie in the playlist. There is some Handel but most of the music is late 20th/early 21st Century. This includes recent arrangements of traditional tunes from Sophie’s native Shetland, some traditional Chinese music, plus some Rolling Stones for those of us who can remember them.

So, some rather different harp music but very enjoyable nonetheless. Please come along and hear Sophie – and meet her over tea after her recital. She is a charming young woman. As before, the concert starts at 3 o’clock on Sunday 19th May in St. Mary’s Church Aberfoyle, will last and hour, and entry is by voluntary donation,
