DIOCESAN SYNOD 2025

Synod meets at the Cathedral on Saturday 8 March, starting at 9.15am with the Synod Eucharist, and ending at 2.30pm. All are welcome, but only elected or licensed Synod members may speak or vote. Papers are being sent out to all members.

    This morning Clergy, Lay Readers and Lay ministers attended the Chrism Mass in Perth Cathedral - St Ninians. The Service started with a moment of silence to remember two priests of our Diocease who died in the last year, the Rev Canon Celia Matthews and the Rev Jeanette Allan who died this last week. During the service four retired priests were appointed as Canons Emeritus of the Cathedral by Bishop Ian: Canon Val Neilist, Canon Elaine Garman, Canon Richard Grosse, and in absentia Canon Bob Harley.Following the service, a lunch of soup and sandwiches was enjoyed by those attending the service made and provided by The.Tuskers. ...     On Maundy Thursday we reflect on Christ’s Last Supper with his disciples, when he washed their feet and shared his body and blood with them in the form of bread and wine. Today we are invited to wash one another’s feet in loving service. In warmer weather many meals are shared at these café tables in Cambo Gardens, near St Andrews.Jesus said, “You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand."After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had reclined again, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for that is what I am.
