There was a beautiful Harvest festival in St. John’s when the congregation welcomed the Reverend Annie as their new Curate. The Rector had her working straight away making pizzas as part of his address.
What a great afternoon was had hosting the Songs of Praise Memory Cafe! The church was full and everyone joined in the singing and the sharing of memories. Then tea and cake and conversation in the hall. St Mary’s pupils made pictures inspired by the songs we sang.
Evensong for the Feast of St Michael and All Angels was celebrated with input from the ABI singers and St Peter’s organist, Kristian Sokolowski. The guest preacher was the Rev Dr Carrie Applegath.
On the 5th Sunday in September, the congregation led the first half of the service on the hugely topical theme of climate change and climate emergency. The flower arrangement is ‘no bees, no flowers. Only ancient ferns.
David, Janice and Lis were left speechless as the joint congregations of St Anne’s, St Catharine’s and St Ninian’s combined to give them a big “thank you” for all their work during the time without a rector. By the end of the service Lis had got her act together enough to insist on a group photo!

This Sunday our Youth Fellowship lead our intercessions focusing on harvest and climate change.
Rev’d James Bryson will be instituted as Rector to the ABBC group of churches, on Saturday 16th November, 2019, at 12 noon in St Catherine’s, Blairgowrie. Please hold James and the congregations in your prayers.
A large crowd gathered at St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth for the ordination to the diaconate of Annie Mackay Hughes by Bishop Ian Paton. We pray for Annie as she takes up her ministry, and for all others being ordained or licensed to ministry at this time.

We invite knitters and those who would like to learn, to join us as we prepare for Christmas. Our plan is to make lots and lots of angels, which we will offer as gifts within our community. No experience needed and patterns, wool, knitting needles will be available.
