Ordination of Deacons 28th June 2026 St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth

The Diocese gathered to welcome Karen McClain Kiefer and Scott Brown as they were ordained Deacon by Bishop Ian on Sunday, 28th June 2026. 

Karen will be serving as Assistant Curate in the South Fife charges (Aberdour, Burntisland and Kirkcaldy) and Scott will be serving as Assistant at the Cathedral and later at St John’s, Perth.

    On the sixth Sunday after Pentecost we take comfort from Jesus’ promise of rest for all those carrying heavy burdens. This twisted tree in Perth’s Branklyn gardens reminds us of the discomfort caused by heavy burdens.Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
