A congregation of 31 people – some from the Church of Scotland’s Forth view Rosyth and Dalgety Bay met together to join Sabine (Forsyth) Pajek to pray and sing together in the Taize tradition. The service was called ‘Come and Gather – A service for Lent’.
The service began in prayer – Gathered together – the familiar and the unknown, resident and visitors for the first time or the umpteenth time. Come Holy Spirit. This was such an apt bidding prayer as many of our Church of Scotland visitors had never been to Holy Trinity before.
We sang, we prayed and we recognised and reflected on the diverse community gathered in Christ.
After the service everyone made their way to the hall for refreshments made by several members of both Holy Trinity and St Margaret’s Rosyth. A huge thanks must go to Sabine and her friends who led a simply wonderful service. Thanks also to our Church of Scotland ‘friends’ who are always so supportive of Sunday @ Six.
There will be many more Sunday @ Six services at St Margaret’s Rosyth, but I am sure Holy Trinity have got the ‘vibe’ and will give more of these services a go. Thanks to all who came along and made the evening so memorable.
