The Provincial Youth Committee (PYC) represents all young people in the Scottish Episcopal Church and oversees events and activities involving young people throughout the year.

The PYC has seats for a Youth Officer and three youth representatives from each diocese: two 12-18 reps and one 18-25 rep.

From the Diocese of St Andrew’s our current representatives are:

18-25 representative:  Jack Foster

12-18 representative: Lucy Peat

12-18 representative:  vacant

Youth Officer: James Gardner

The Provincial Youth Committee provides a safe space for young people to voice their opinions, be heard and have a role within the church. Only the youth reps are voting members.

The PYC is overseen by the Mission Board and led by the Convenor, Rev Canon Tembu Rongong, who is also the Camp Leader of the Provincial Youth Week.

The work of the PYC is facilitated the Chair of the PYC currently Phoebe Price from the Diocesan of Edinburgh, and the  the Provincial Youth Ministry team of Claire Benton-Evans, Provincial Youth Ministry Team Lead, and Tom Klafkowski, Provincial Youth Ministry Co-Ordinator.

The PYC it’s self not responsible for the running of the Youth Week (“Yeek”), as this is managed by the Youth Week leadership team: visit the Yeek website for more information and how to sign up to attend a remarkable week in the glorious Perthshire countryside of Glenalmond College.

For Youth and Young Adult events  both Diocesan and Provincial check out the Youth Events page for more information.
